About the Our University Department: In 1972, the University’s Department of Physics was established. The department offers 2 years M.Sc. program in physics. The Department aims to create a solid foundation for integrating physical concepts and fostering a sense of creativity, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking. The Department has 4 faculty members with research interests lying in condensed matter physics, spintronics, optics, and photonics. The faculties are research-oriented and have been publishing research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Some of them are also supervising Ph.D. students. The alumni of the department have distinguished themselves in different fields. The department has received financing for a number of research projects in the areas of research and development from organizations like DST, UGC, CSIR, and the European Community.
